On March 25, 2008 the Army announced its selection of Michaels Military Housing, LLC to create the Community Development and Management Plan (CDMP) for Yuma Proving Ground, AZ as part of the Army's Residential Communities Initiative (RCI). The partnership between Michaels Military Housing and Yuma Proving Ground RCI, created Desert Oasis Communities. 

Desert Oasis Communities is responsible for management and maintenance of on post housing at Yuma Proving Ground.  An Initial Development Plan (IDP) was established to improve the quality of life at Yuma Proving Ground. A few of the community enhancements planned include maintenance and improvement of the existing homes, construction of a new community center, addition of a splash park, exercise trails and a new dog park. 

Desert Oasis Communities is committed to developing and managing a best in class community of family housing, while supporting the missions of the Installation, establishing Yuma Proving Ground as the residence of choice for military families.
